Getting There

Cork Airport is likely to be your best bet, they have multiple flights each day from the main UK airports. From there it is approx 10 min taxi to the hotel & Cork city centre. Buses will head into the city centre of Cork and then you'll need to change for buses towards Douglas and there is a stop right outside the hotel. If you get stuck please let us know and we can sort a lift from someone!
Cork airport is small, really modern / easy to navigate and has a few little bars / cafe's.

Dublin Airport is approx 2.45hrs drive from Cork. Public transport is available via bus / train hourly during the day.

Taxis aren't great around Cork for some reason. Uber doesn't exist and so you'll need an app called freenow instead which works the same way. It's likely you'll want to pre book taxis on the freenow app if you're going places.

Buses are serviced by Bus Éireann. Tickets cannot be booked for the local bus services, you pay when you board the bus. You can either purchase a leap card (like an oyster card) or pay in cash and in Euro only, there is no card payments. The typical cash fare is €2.40.

Gifts

Your presence at our special occasion itself is a priceless gift and we truly don’t expect anything else.
We totally comprehend the significant expense and effort behind travelling and lodging for a few days, especially for those with children, so please don't feel any pressure to bring additional gifts.

That being said, if you're inclined to contribute towards our honeymoon or home, we've created a small registry at the link beneath, but please do revisit the previous section!

Accommodation Options

Accommodation Options

The Maryborough is a rather expensive hotel and so below you will find a short list of alternative options that would be more budget friendly:

Rochestown Park Hotel

This is just around the corner from the Maryborough (10 min walk) and has a large number of rooms. Likely to be in the region of £110 / €140 per night. We've stayed there before and can recommend (also has a pool and B&B options). It's a bit of a hill but only about 15 minute walk to the Maryborough.

Carrigaline Court Hotel

Another option is the Carrigaline Court Hotel, which is in another nearby city suburb of Carrigaline. While not walkable to the wedding venue, this hotel is on a well-serviced bus route (220) to the Maryborough Hotel. This bus runs for 24hours and takes around 20 minutes between walking and the bus journey itself, so is a good option to cut back on taxi fares. The Carrigaline Court hotel is also directly accessible by bus from the airport (225 bus).

There are also plenty of B&Bs and smaller hotels in the area, we don’t have direct experience of these to recommend ourselves but please check out on TripAdvisor if you want to look into these options.

Other things you might like to do

Since you're coming all this way why not make a bit more of a holiday out of it?

One thing to bear in mind if you've not been to Ireland before (or recently) is that it is quite an expensive country to stay in (not far off London prices) which may be worth bearing in mind when you are making plans. We would also recommend car hire over relying on public transport in general.

Nearby
Fota Wildlife Park: A great family friendly mini day out (15 min drive from Cork).

Further afield
Landscapes and Scenery: County Kerry / the Dingle peninsula is a fantastic spot with lots of lakes, mountains and small towns / villages, renting a car is strongly recommended if you are heading out that way.

We can't wait to see you!
